Maurice Cemetery

This historic cemetery is the final resting place of many of the town’s early settlers. The cemetery is home to a variety of gravestones, including some that date back to the 1800s.

Maurice Fire Department

This fire department was founded in 1967 and is the oldest continuously operating fire department in Vermilion Parish. On November 18th, 1999 Chief Fred Broussard lost his life in the line of duty. He was the only firefighter to lose his life  in the line of duty in Vermilion parish.

Maurice Town Hall

This town hall was built in 1938 and is the seat of local government. The town hall is open to the public, and visitors can learn about the history of Maurice and its government.

Vivian Alexander Gallery and Museum

This gallery and museum showcases the work of Vivian Alexander, a local artist who is known for her one-of-a-kind designer egg purses. The gallery also features a variety of other artwork, including paintings, sculptures, and jewelry.

City Bar

This bar is a local landmark opened in 1927, and is known for its friendly atmosphere and its selection of beers on tap. In 1956, the original building was burned down and the closest fire department was in downtown Lafayette,

Villager's Cafe

Step back in time into the old, small wood framed building through the front screened porch where you can sit & enjoy your meal as you watch the world go by. Inside, the decor is charming & quite conversational.
